Writing in French: what can your students do? And what are their next steps for improvement? This writing continuum lays it out in an accessible format and positive tone. Students can get involved with their own assessment and identify their own areas for improvement.
This writing continuum was designed for Core French students to improve their writing skills in French. It is a wonderful tool for differentiated instruction and assessment.
There are 11 stages represented in the continuum: samples of student work, becoming progressively more complex, and an accompanying page for each sample, of criteria that are being met for each stage.
The criteria look at four different categories in students’ writing: organization, style, mechanics, and planning.
The continuum can be printed and posted in the classroom to use as a visual resource for students. It can also be presented in book format, and can also be screened on the smartboard.
The package includes (as pdf and smart notebook files):
-the continuum for students, with work samples (23 pages)
-the continuum for teachers (12 pages)
-a simple user's guide (1 page)
