A great lesson to show how the way a war was fought in North America was very different from in Europe at the time.
This is part of the French and Indian War College Simulation which is also available on this site BUT it works well as a stand alone lesson, too.
The main focus of the lesson is on the Indian way of fighting. The French called it “La Petite Guerre” (small war). Students will also learn how the British were slow to understand this way of fighting a war.
• Students will explain how wars were fought in Europe.
• Students will identify “La Petite Guerre” as the French way of describing the use of Indian tactics in battle.
• Students will discuss the mistakes made by the British and Americans after re-enacting Braddock’s Defeat.
