This PowerPoint covers the causes and outcomes of the French and Indian War. Specifically, it charts the growing tension between Britain and France over the Ohio River Valley as North America got caught up in existing European affairs and diplomacy. The war itself is covered very briefly. It also includes an examination of the Treaty of Paris 1763 and the impact the War had on Britain and the colonists. It concludes by focusing on colonial expansion which lead to Pontiac's Rebellion and, eventually, the Proclamation of 1763. This presentation is used in an AP United States history class and is based off of Chapter 6 of The American Pageant, 14th edition.
