This is a 6x5 grid puzzle on a PowerPoint program. It uses the irregular verbs faire, être, avoir, aller, venir, mettre, and vouloir in the present tense. The student matches the French (i.e. “Je suis”) with the English (i.e. “I am”). The edges of this puzzle are blank, which makes it easier to complete.
The text is in red Calibri with a red background, but any of those can be changed. For “vous,” I used the translation “y’all,” but of course you can change it to suit your needs.
I printed a few copies of this in color (changing the background color to differentiate between sets), laminated, cut out, and put each puzzle in its own ziploc. You could also print it on colored paper. If you have access to a poster maker, you may consider printing it on the poster maker to make larger pieces.
This is a good vocabulary activity and enrichment activity. Having a variety of games on hand is ideal for the last week of school, a day before a holiday, after a test, etc.
If you wish to make your own game for other verbs, vocabulary, questions/answers, etc., I have a set of matching puzzle templates also available for sale.
If you plan to use this resource in a group (i.e. department), please purchase more than one license. Thanks!
