This number speaking activity for French is a practical way for beginners to use their numbers orally and also to associate the numeral with the French word. Counting isn’t very fun or practical, and it doesn’t help students recognize individual numbers. This FREE speaking activity will help your students memorize their numbers, recognize them when spoken, and practice correct pronunciation all at once! You can also use this as a way to integrate some culture when you explain how French phone numbers are written and exchanged.

Each partner receives a half-sheet with four phone numbers on it. Without showing their partner their sheet, they read the phone number to him/her and the partner writes down the answer. When finished, they switch roles. It’s fun, quick, easy to explain, and NO PREP for you!

I have also included 5 more fun ways I like to teach numbers.
