These 10 French reading passages are the perfect way to get your beginning French students reading. Great for Core French or immersion. Each passage includes 3 versions of the student question sheets. Cette ressource contient 10 compréhensions de lecture.
This PDF now has an interactive layer so you can assign it to your students through Google Classroom. I've removed answer keys and added text boxes so students can type right on this document. This is great for distance learning! Find it by clicking "Open TpT digital activity" after you purchase this PDF.
These questions are appropriate for beginning French students and immersion classes who are ready to transition to slightly more challenging grammar and vocabulary. This packet contains more advanced concepts than my reading comprehension sets 1 and 2, however the reading passages are similar in length. Check the preview to assess the difficulty level and see if it meets your needs.
Use this set of reading activities to introduce or reinforce:
- the passé composé
- reflexive verbs in the present and passé composé
- health and wellness
- chores around the house
- the futur simple (basic recognition required for one reading- perfect for the end of French 2!)
Each reading passage is the same, but the questions vary based on the version you choose. The first version you will always see has short answer English questions and students can answer in English or French. These questions will be the easiest for students who need more support. The second version has the same style of questions, however, the questions are in French and students are directed to answer in French. These are best for your more-advanced learners. The third version has multiple choice questions, and occasionally, students will locate specific information in the text (such as adjectives or certain verb tenses). These are great for any level, as the questions are a bit different than the short answer versions.
You can choose all one version for a class, but I like to use different versions based on student levels so that differentiation is super-easy! You can always print 2 versions back-to-back and let students choose their own activity.
Reading passages included are:
Je suis malade
Un soir au ciné
Mamadou aide ses parents
Un dîner chez Émilie
Lisette se prépare
Je me suis fait mal
Théo est sorti
On part en vacances
Un mauvais rendez-vous
Includes teacher key.
