Description

If you are teaching si clauses in French and want a fun way to practice using with the imparfait and the present, you'll want to check this out! The sentence clauses are a mix of the imparfait and conditionnel plus the présent and futur simple.

This activity contains a choice of printable sentence strips or cards that you cut out and give to students in groups of 2 or 3. You get sentences with clauses in the futur simple and clauses with the conditionnel.

The students’ task is to match up the si clauses with the correct clause that logically completes the sentence. To make this simpler, the clauses that need to match up with the si clauses are all underlined. Each sentence will be comprised of one underlined clause and one clause with no underlining.

There are sentences with the present so students will need to look for the futur simple. There are also sentences with the imparfait so students will need to look for the conditionnel. I have included sentences that begin with the si clauses as well as sentences that have the si clause as the second clause so that students don’t get too comfortable with only one type of structure.

You will get:

Teacher directions

Teacher answer key with the complete sentences.

18 sentences with the imparfait/conditionnel

18 sentences with the présent/futur simple
