Description

These fun frequency table stations feature relevant, real-life applications that students will love! There are 8 stations, each featuring its own frequency table and a set of 4 related questions, for 32 questions total.

Stations are designed for cooperative learning and can easily be pinned around the room for partner or group rotations. If you prefer seated work, the pages can also be printed and formed into a neat packet!

Tables include: family pets, favorite foods, people in each grade, favorite subject, favorite color, heights in each class, time spent on homework, and favorite drink. All tables have at least 4 rows and 2-3 columns. Questions involve adding totals for the entire table, totals for one variable (for example, boys), totals for two variables (for example, girls who like pizza), and making comparisons between values.

This file includes: a cover sheet, 8 full-page stations with 1 table and 4 questions each, student recording sheets, and an answer key!

Understand that patterns of association can also be seen in bivariate categorical data by displaying frequencies and relative frequencies in a two-way table. Construct and interpret a two-way table summarizing data on two categorical variables collected from the same subjects. Use relative frequencies calculated for rows or columns to describe possible association between the two variables. For example, collect data from students in your class on whether or not they have a curfew on school nights and whether or not they have assigned chores at home. Is there evidence that those who have a curfew also tend to have chores?
