Frequent Contact is a great way to activate and build background knowledge in mathematics. It is also a worthwhile formative assessment.
Sample of activity:
1. As a group, read and discuss each of the words below.
2. As you discuss the words, use the three column headings to decide which terms would have the most “frequent contact” with which column heading and write the words in that column.
3. It is possible that certain words may fit in more than one column.
