Friction is a force that needs to be felt! Use this friction board as an introduction to friction and have students collect different materials to understand how some materials produce a greater resistance to motion and some produce less resistance.
I used this as an extension activity with my fifth graders and had so many different examples to share with all the students including horse hair, PVC, and bubble wrap!
We hung this on our Learning Map/Interactive Word Wall for a unit long connection to friction.
Younger students can use this to understand materials and texture. There are many different ways to utilize this resource!
