This is a 160 slide PowerPoint presentation with built in class notes (red slides), hands-on activities with directions, visuals, worksheet, challenge questions with answers, built-in quizzes, one page homework / classwork, answer key, lesson notes, an much more.
This PowerPoint begins by describing Friction is a series of slides that use a shade technique to only present one piece of information at a time. A couple of neat questions ask the students to predict life in a frictionless world. The positives and negatives are then addressed in a series of slides after the student brainstorm. An air puck activity is described if you have them, if not just delete the slide. The four types of friction are described in a series of slides with each slide type of friction having its own visual. Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics are described in a series of slide with great visuals. A really simple and fun activity has students try to create a covering for a tissue paper box to prevent it from being blown over by a fan. This activity is easy to conduct in a short time. Tape, paper, and scissors, and tissue box are all that are needed. A visual quiz is provided 1-10 with the four types of friction as the word bank. The answers are provided after the quiz. The question is previewed before the answer is revealed so the teacher can call upon students. Friction is described on last time in a series of notes. An activity has students look at the sole of their sneakers / footwear to determine where their footwear encounters the most friction. A neat activity has students use spring scales and textbook on a hook (weights if you have them) to determine how surface types effect friction. Questions and answers are provided. This is a neat PowerPoint that involves the students and is full of important notes broken up by meaningful hands-on activities. Please see my entire Motion and Machines Unit before purchasing this Powerpoint described below.
This PowerPoint includes critical notes (Red Slides), exciting visuals, challenge questions, activities with directions and more. Text is usually placed at the top of the slide so it can be read from all angles of a classroom. Color coded slides, as well as a shade technique is used to increase student focus and allows the teacher to control the pace of the lesson. These PowerPoints are meant to be interactive as possible and ask many questions, provides built in review opportunities, explains directions to activities, and much more. Transition effects are never used.
