In this week long distance learning unit students will use the preterite and imperfect to describe clothing in Spanish and learn about the iconic Frida Kahlo. Students explore the “Google Arts and Culture” App and pay special attention to how Frida Kahlo expressed her personal identity and her body through clothing, garments and accessories. This unit includes a opening reflection activity, a short video on Frida Kahlo and digital true false activity that students complete directly on the Google Slide, a digital vocabulary activity using a link provided to a list on quizlet, a short video about the Museo Frida Kahlo exhibit that focuses on her clothing, a tutorial on how to use Google Arts and Culture App for this activity, a scavenger hunt for students to find 15 articles of clothing located in the exhibit, and a writing activity using the preterite and imperfect and images they collect in a personal gallery of her clothing. Everything is done for you and requires no prep. Just assign an individual copy to each student on Google Classroom or have them make a copy of your template.
