This is a sheet designed to help students reflect on their week by using their creative and critical thinking skills. Students use mind mapping to capture their thoughts about the week. If they choose, they may use the thinking prompts along the edge to guide their reflection. The prompts urge them to think about the things they've learned and successes they've had and also the things they want to still improve on. They can also record memories from the week, things they are looking forward to about the weekend and the following week ahead, and ways they noticed their classmates being successful as well.
Since mind maps are ways to visually organize information, my students respond in the ways that are most comfortable for them. Frequently a combination of words, phrases and pictures are used in their responses. I use them for morning work on Fridays, yet they could be used at any point during the day.
The file includes a template in color and also one in black and white.
