Writing friendly letters is a valuable life skill and a whole lot of fun! In this unit, writers learn about letter writing format, but also to write with intention, thinking about the purpose of their piece and also their audience, choosing their details in consideration of their purpose and audience. It's an excellent opportunity for learning about proper conventions of punctuation and capitalization of names and the beginning of sentences!
