Are you looking for engaging materials for your younger students to teach them important aspects of being a good friend? Do you find yourself telling your students to "be friendly" but haven't considered that your students might need direct teaching of friendship skills? Do you want to help your students learn that other students feel safest around them when they are listening to the teacher? Then, this packet might be helpful to you. It includes the following:
A nine-page teaching story in color. Display on your smart board or I pad or print and laminate.
Two teaching mats for sorting friendly and unfriendly ways in both color and black and white.
24 cards depicting friendly and unfriendly behaviors (color and black and white),
4 Visuals or Teaching Tools depicting: staying with the group, being away from the group, thinking about what the teacher is thinking about and NOT thinking about what the teacher is thinking about. Visuals are in color and black and white. The black and white ones can also be used as a coloring activity.
