This friendship social story adapted book for Autism and Special Education includes topics such as rules, safe hands, greetings, taking turns, waiting for a turn, playing at recess, sharing, coping strategies, giving compliments, helping others, and more.
It is a great way to start off the school year in a "Back to School" lesson.
The illustrated pages have 1-4 sentences with a “wh” question page to follow for comprehension checks. The “wh” question pages have a field of 3 visual choices. Students choose the correct icon and put it in the sentence prompt to answer the questions.
This book is best used when read several times as a whole group or with individual students. Staff can read the entire book with students or read specific pages before activities that require the skills needed on that page. (Ex. Read the taking turns at recess page before recess.)
