PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A large variety of activities for students to process and practice the virtue of friendship/friendliness. The activities can be used at anytime, nothing is specific to a holiday/season.

Included in the pack:
Friendliness T-chart (large and small) – Use the large icons to make a t-chart on poster paper. Use the single sheet copy for personal, small group t-charts or to put on the wall. List what friendliness “looks like” (what would you see someone doing?) and “sounds like”

Friendliness Poster – A poster that describes friendliness. Can be read aloud as a class.

Quotes – 5 quotes that speak to what friendliness is. These lead to great discussions about friendliness and how to show it.
Quote processing page – a ½ sheet for students to process what a quote means.

Virtue Voucher

Video/Stories – (example/answer key included) There is 1 video and 2 storybook processing pages. The processing page helps them think about what the story says about friendliness. Please make sure you view them prior to the students to ensure they are appropriate for your class. Answer keys are included with possible answers. A book list of other great read alouds connected to friendliness is also included.

Friendliness Role Play – 8 situations that commonly happen (enough roles for up to 28 students.) Students can act these out to practice using language that supports friendliness.

55 Forms of Friendliness Craftivity – Students will prewrite ways to show friendliness. Then, make a large list as a class and create a poster/chain/other display

Friendliness Debates – 10 discussion starters about friendliness – great for Morning Meeting! After discussing, the students can fill out the processing page with a partner.

Friendliness Interview – Friends listen to each other and know information about each other. Students will write interview questions to get to know their friend more. Then, they will interview their friend – practice listening to your friend! Then, the student will make an “All About” page about their friend. They could also make a portrait of their friend.
Friendliness Debates – 10 discussion starters about friendliness – great for Morning Meeting! After discussing, the students can fill out the processing page with a partner.
Friendliness Word Wall – Common words used when talking about friendliness. Students can use for speaking and writing.

Friendliness at Home – Students will think of items that represent friendship (a chocolate because friends are sweet.) They will bring the bag and items back at the end of the both.
