This freebie provides practice in basic addition skills. Students count the number of frogs and write that number on the blank under the frogs. They then count up the frogs to determine the total. Because 5 is the total for all the addition problems, it's a great way to show early learners that there are multiple ways to make 5. Plus, if you have little frog manipulatives, they can get extra fine motor and one-to-one correspondence practice by placing a manipulative on top of each frog picture as they count. They can then push all the manipulatives to the other side of the equals sign in order to count them up and get their total.
