This frog craft activity is a great way to integrate what students have learned about frogs with a fun craft. Use to make your bulletin boards pop as a way of recording frog facts. Includes step-by-step directions to make to enhance a variety of curriculum studies:

  • Frogs and Toads
  • Literacy unit based on the works of Arnold Lobel
  • Living and Non-Living things
  • Summer plans and 'jumping in' to the next grade level!

What's included (Check out the preview for a closer look):

  • Step-by-step photographs
  • One large frog template with writing grid
  • One Venn diagram
  • 9 sentences to be cut apart and placed on the venn diagram
  • 1 crossword based on The Garden
  • 1 word search based on The Story
  • 1 writing activity sheet based on The Garden

Small hands may need assistance with cutting!

Use the provided statements with the Venn diagram to compare and contrast frogs and toads within a science unit, or use it to compare and contrast the characters in the famous stories by Arnold Lobel. I have used this as a whole class pre-assessment on the overhead projector or smart board to see what the students already know about frogs and toads, and as a wrap up activity to see what they have learned. I call out the sentence and we find the words together and the students decide which bubble of the venn diagram to put their sentence in. You can also use the venn diagrams for students to write their own sentences about frogs. Students love making the frogs. They can write on the frog's tummy with the lined grid (included).
