This lab covers the external and internal anatomy of the frog. In the external section it has the students observe various features of the frog and make inferences from them. Then internal sections leads the students step by step through a dissection (though a preview by the teacher is helpful). A diagram of a frog and its organs would be helpful.
My students were able to complete this lab in two 45 minute class periods (so the lab was done over two days). Before beginning the lab we spent time discussing the organs of a frog and how to do the dissection. I had students work in pairs to do the dissections and paired students who did not want to dissect with someone who did.
