This is an alternate form of dissection: with paper! There are other paper dissections out there, but I wanted to draw my own leopard frog and make it easy to follow and fun to do. Students can do this in one class period and can do this alone or in groups.
I have taught Biology for 35 years, and have done many real frog dissections, but I have changed my mind on whether students need a real frog to dissect in high school. I have become more of an environmentalist and animal lover and just don't feel right about it anymore. So, I give this lab to my students, and they have fun, stay safe and don't hurt any frogs! Happy cutting!
