By scanning these QR codes, your students will view 20 different resources - stories read aloud, songs, informational videos.
This is a great center (or something for your students to do when they finish early or as a reward!)! If you are lucky enough to have access to technology devices (ipods, ipads, tablets, etc.), then this center is for your students! You have to be able to download a FREE QR Scanner App.
I created a full color scene that has 20 active QR Codes. The codes reveal short stories (read or animated), informational videos, and songs. Your students can independently scan and then 'watch' the book~much like a listening center! More than one student can be engaged at once. This is also great for special needs children!
I was careful to make all of the links in this file 'kid safe.' The videos are derived from YouTube, but are funneled through the Safeshare site to ensure that students are not watching or seeing things they shouldn't be seeing. When the QR Code is scanned, the story pops up and the student pushes play.
Print the scene sheet and/or iPads with individual QR codes, laminate and cut out. This is a lot less expensive than buying each individual book and CD's for your listening center! It also provides a variety of stories, videos, and songs for your students to enjoy as they learn about the frog life cycle.
A few of the TWENTY active QR code links are:
999 Tadpoles by Ken Kimura
Metamorphosis - Frog Life Cycle song by Singing Zoologist
The Big Wide-Mouthed Frog by Ana Martin Larranaga
San Diego Zoo Kids - Frogs
Frogs by Gail Gibbons
Icky Sticky Frog by Dawn Bentley
and frog themed videos.
Your students will have the opportunity to see all 20 of the QR codes contained in this file to enhance your frog unit!!!
When I create files, I use a variety of videos from YouTube. However, more often than we would like, videos are removed from YouTube causing "broken" links in my files. If you happen to find a "broken" link in this or any of my products, please leave a comment for me so I replace the "broken" link, update and upload the file, and you can reprint for continued use.
