This frog themed math resource includes 18 multiplication equation and product flash card pairs which can be used individually or in partners as follows:
Individually:Multiplication Match up- Laminate and cut out the cards. Spread them out face up or stack them into equation and product piles. Have students match up the cards by pairing the multiplication equation with the correct product and recording the pairs on the worksheet provided.
In Partners:Multiplication Memory Game- Use only 2 sheets each of equations and products (or as many cards as you think appropriate for your students. I suggest using 16-24 cards in total). Glue the cards onto cardstock (of all the same color) and cut them out. Place them face down in 4 rows of 6 (may vary depending on how many cards you’re using). Playing in partners, students take turns flipping over 2 cards in an attempt to make a multiplication equation and product pair (ex/ match up the 6x3= card to the 18 card). Students should first flip one card over and then a second to try and make the pair. This allows them to utilize their memory of the location of the cards. If a match is made the player keeps the pair of cards and gets another turn. If the cards do not match they are flipped back over and it’s the next player’s turn. Whichever player has the most cards at the end wins. *Reinforce to the students that it is important for them to be watching during their partners turn in order to memorize the location of the cards.
