Just in time for Spring! I LOVE reading the Frog and Toad books to my Kindergarteners. They are simple and seem to have just enough humor in the stories that the children get . They can't wait to hear the next story. We have so much fun learning about frogs and toads, and usually are lucky enough to be able to have real frog and toad eggs to watch in the classroom. I made this Prezi to use with this unit. I included a simple biography about the author, Arnold Lobel, his picture, and other books he has written. Beneath his picture is a link to an interview with his daughter, who continued on with his work as an author herself. To the left, I included several 3 to 5 minute videos of the some of the stories, a video of a read-aloud, and an online book that you can read aloud on the Smartboard. Underneath these are the best sites I found online for ideas and links to Frog and Toad lessons and activities. I also included some great Pinterest boards dedicated to Frog and Toad and Arnold Lobel. On the right are pictures I use for science lessons comparing frogs and toads. This is helpful to have where it is easy to access, and great for discussions and writing opportunities. At the bottom are links to a couple games I found online. I hope you have fun with this in your classroom! Enjoy.
