This packet is designed to integrate nonfiction along with some fiction (Froggy books!) books all about frogs. It is set up in a easy to follow way for students to begin researching! All you need to do is provide some books!
I have included a research packet for students to research frogs. There is also a KWL chart and a few Can-Have-Need organizers (for frogs, tadpoles and Froggy) There is also a writing template for students to write about 4 interesting facts about frogs.
As for the storybook part, Froggy books aren't necessary to use this packet (with the exception of 3 pages that are specifically Froggy related). There are comprehension pages with a frog theme that includes writing about their favorite part of a book, problem/solution, story map, looking at illustrations for details/more info, retelling a story and main idea practice.
Also included are 5 activities for teaching possessive nouns. (I used the Froggy books that had the possessive nouns in the title. The worksheets/activities included do not have to be used with frogs.)
Last, there is a graphing activities for students to complete. They will survey the class whether or not they like frogs.
There are essential question posters included as well.
