This simple, fun game provides practice reading closed syllables from 2 letter words all the way to six letter words. The number 6 list has many two closed syllable words (mitten, napkin. . . )
The prep. is simple. Print out the game board and the word list page. Laminate and you are all set! There are only two pages and no cards to cut out or keep track of. You will also need a die and some colored chips. This one doesn't take up much of your precious storage space!
I've provided a black and white set of directions that I like to print on the back of the game board.
This game is a favorite. It goes fast and I can tuck it into the end of a lesson even if we've just got a few minutes. It works great for just two players, but can also work in a small group of 3-4.
This works well in an Orton Gillingham style lesson when you are just about ready to move on from closed syllables or need a quick closed syllable review.
This game is a version of the Ladybug! Ladybug! game. It has different word lists but the play is the same and the reading skills are the same. If you like this one you may want to check it out! Ladybug! Ladybug!
