PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In this lab activity, the students will split up into five groups. Each group will be given a code for a strand of DNA that consists of a nine nucleotide sequence and the three amino acids formed from the DNA. From this strand of DNA, each group will determine the complementary DNA strand and make these out of construction paper using the patterns provided. After the DNA molecule is complete, an RNA strand will need to be made that corresponds to the 3 amino acids that each group was given. Then all five groups will work together to form the entire protein chain by joining their DNA strands together.
