These Fronting and Stopping Speech Therapy Car Mats provide picture cueing for students who exhibit the phonological processes of fronting or stopping. The mats help students correctly produce their target sound combined with picture cues to form real words. The highly motivating car mat format helps students slide the sounds together as they drive a toy car across the mat.

Fronting Mats: initial /k/ (2 mats) and /g/ (2 mats) and final /k/ (2 mats)
Stopping Mats: initial /s/ (2 mats), /f/, /sh/, /ch/
Stopping Mats using the "/h/ insertion trick": initial /s/ (2 mats), /f/, and /sh/
The "/h/ insertion trick" is to have the child produce the target fricative then a word that starts with /h/ to produce a new word correctly without a stopping error (i.e. /s/ + "hope" = soap). This is particularly helpful with children who produce the fricative but still insert a stop sound (i.e. "s-toap") for "soap".
Each mat also has mouth picture cues to show the student the mouth/lip placement for the target sounds.
