Are you looking for a fun experiment for your students to complete that can help your students understand sensation and processing? If so, you have to check out this activity!
This activity includes:
1) An experiment for your students to complete that gives them the opportunity to taste Froot Loops in order to determine their flavor. As you may know, all of the Froot Loops are the same flavor, they are just different colors. It is so much fun to walk around the class and watch them try to guess the flavors. They will be using all the information given to them, color and smell, to try to piece together the flavor of the Loops. The activity comes with a chart for them to graph three different trials: smell and sight, taste and blind taste. They will then answer questions about their experience during the experiment.
This activity is great because it leads to a great discussion about top-down processing and possible reasons why they may have tasted different flavors.
2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension. The activity also comes with advice and instructions for what to do in the classroom during and after the experiments.
YOU WILL NEED TO SUPPLY THE FROOT LOOPS WHICH CAN BE FOUND AT ANY STORE. YOU CAN ALSO USE THE OFF BRAND TO SAVE SOME MONEY.
