Product Description
This activity introduces students to the concepts of genotype, phenotype, heterozygous, homozygous dominant and recessive. Students get a fruit fly genotype card (provided as part of the activity) and must determine their phenotype. The activity has students moving around the room to find fruit flies with specific genotypes or phenotypes. The last question asks them to find a fruit fly that could be one of their parents (introducing the idea of punnett squares).
