This diverse, hands-on activity is filled with wonderful pictures of common fruits and vegetables that children may encounter. To make things different, this activity includes a clip art version and a real version of each fruit and vegetable while also including the inside of most of them. As an independent educator, I have learned that since a lot of fruits and vegetables look different on the inside than they do on the outside, children become confused and unable to identify them once they are cut open.
In addition, this activity is diverse because there are two ways that you can navigate through it (1) After laminating, cut out all pictures and create a memory game where your child(ren) will pair real fruit/vegetables with clip art versions. (2) Use either the real version of the fruits/vegetables or the clip art version as the base page and cut out the other, place Velcro on each, and match the cutouts to the base page.
