This package is designed to introduce young learners ( 3 - 6, or older for ESL) to both familiar and exotic fruits from around the world.
Included in the package is a poster classifying fruits into 3 categories ( tropical, temperate, subtropical) using a corresponding colour code for ease of learning and independant use.
You will also find a climate definition poster to explore climate zones with your students with examples of countries representing each zone.
I have chosen 24 different fruits (8 each from tropical, temperate and subtropical climates) with a mix of well known as well as more exotic fruits. All images are real photographs, chosen for their simplicity and appeal to young children.
These classified cards are designed to be used as Montessori 3 part cards for those that are trained in the method. However, I've also included instructions and several extension ideas to adapt the cards for normal flashcard use, including ESL appropriate activities which I've fully tested with 3 - 12 year olds.
Once printed and laminated, these cards and posters can be used for dozens of varied lessons covering phonics, geography, weather and of course food. My students personally use and love them - I hope yours will, too!
