Product Description
The Fry sight words list contains the most common words in the English language. Many schools and teachers use them for early reading practice, but they're also useful for English learners to study as vocabulary words.

Summary: These quizzes evaluate students’ reading, spelling, and meaning knowledge of the fourth hundred words of the Fry vocabulary list (words 301-400).

Contents: 2 quizzes with answer keys. There are PDF versions and editable MS Word versions of these quizzes in my shop.

Instructions to Teacher
- Sight words: I type the sight word in a large font in a word document, and use the projector controls to show the screen very briefly. Alternatively, you can use printed cards of each word to show words very briefly to students.
- Dictation: Read each example sentence twice, at an appropriate speed for your students.
- Alphabetical order: Students write the target words in alphabetical order.
- Picture match: Students match the target words with their corresponding picture.
- Picture draw: Students draw a small picture to show their understanding of the target word.
- Fill-in-the-blank: Students write the correct word in each space.
- Original sentence writing: Students write a sentence using each word to show that they understand the meaning of the word. I grade these exclusively on the meaning of the sentence, since grammar and spelling (of non-target words) are not the targets of this activity.
