Product Description
This pack includes dice, word cards and simple dice games for the first hundred Fry Words. Two sets of dice are included. The first set features a font including arrows and numbers to aid in correct letter formation. The second set includes a standard primary font.

To assemble the dice just cut, fold along the lines, tuck the tabs in and tape or glue. (These dice are easiest to build when a thick paper, such as tagboard, is used.)

Using these dice, students can be challenged to:
• Roll and read.
• Roll, read and write.
• Say a sentence using the word they rolled.
• Write a sentence using the word they rolled.
• Roll 2 dice and say or write a sentence using both words.

My students also enjoy the following games:

“Double It Up” ~ Partners take turns rolling the die and writing the word. The winner is the first person who “doubles up” by rolling and writing the same word twice. Play begins again.
Cooperative version: Both partners write the word each time the die is rolled. Partners complete the game when a word is rolled and written for the second time.

“Flip It” ~ Students work with partners. Each student has a set of word cards that matches the die. Students take turns rolling the die. When they roll a word, they read and flip the card. Winner is the first child to flip all his/her cards.
Cooperative version: Scatter 2 sets of word cards on a table or on the floor. When a word is rolled, the player finds the word and flips the card. Partners complete the game when all cards have been flipped.

“Super Six” ~ Partners take turns rolling the die and writing the word. The winner is the first person who writes all six words.
Cooperative version: Students take turns rolling the die. Both partners write the word each time the die is rolled. Partners complete the game when they have written all six words.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Sincerely, Anne Gardner (NBCT, Literacy)
