Many children, like my oldest daughter, have struggled with learning sight words. They need a multi-sensory approach rather than rote memorization. To accomplish this, why not let the children create their own set of sight word flash cards? The letters are outlined only, so they can color each one. Each card can be further customized by letting the children draw pictures, write some mnemonic, add the phonetic spelling or even add stickers! Whatever works for the children is fine, and they will have tons of fun doing it!
This document includes the first 100 Fry words and has been created using the Avery ® Jewel Case CD Inserts template (8693TM). This will allow you to print the words on card stock. You can laminate them or, if you wish, store them in plastic CD protector sheets and keep them in a binder. Once a sight word is learned, the card can be replaced with another one.
I have intentionally uploaded this product as an editable Microsoft® Word document so that you can set margins or change the font, as necessary. Please note that you should start printing from page 3.
All ten Fry high-frequency word lists (100 words per list) are available for individual purchase. You can also buy all ten lists bundled and at a 10% discount from the individual list price.
