I believe that reading in context is more important than memorizing the list of Fry words. With that in mind, I have created these flashcards with the Fry word on one side and the word used in a sentence on the other.
I have used the Comic Sans font so that each letter is in a true writing font. No fancy g's or a's. I also made sure to use many of the same words over and over again in the sentences for extra practice on reading more words in context.
I have included two sets, one for front-and-back printers and one for one-sided printers. It is also in Microsoft Word, so feel free to make any changes that you need to customize for your own needs. This document has Michigan and Pullman in it, so feel free to change them to your location.
You can print the whole list or individualize by printing only the words missed by each child.
I have included a blank template for copying and pasting just the words you want to print for individual students. There are two blank templates, one with a space for the student's name and one without.
These work great for RTI or Title I purposes, as well as whole group practice.
In my store, I also have The First Hundred, The Second Hundred and the Third Hundred Fry Words Flashcards with Sentences available for purchase.
