Are you looking for something to do for summer school? Do you teach year round and need something with a summer theme? Do your students need practice learning words? Then this may be just the game you need.
There are 100 words plus 12 special cards to make the game more interesting.
Number of players: 3-6
This game works great in a center, a small group with adult supervision, or a Response To Intervention group.
The object of the game is to have the most cards when the game is over. (The game is over when your time is up or if there are no more cards left.) The other object of the game is to become fluent in reading these basic words.
Place cards face down. Each child draws one card and reads it.
IF they can read it correctly, they get to hold the card in their pile. If they can’t read it correctly, it goes at the bottom of the pile.
There are some special cards mixed in this deck that have directions for that child to read.
I also have the sets made for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, set of words with the summer theme.
