Going 1:1 with iPads and need a complete project for your ecosystems unit? This product includes a whole unit in one bundle! This project can be done individually, or works great with small groups (2-4 students). The included portions are the following:
-PowerPoint (30 slides) on the topics of biotic and abiotic factors, food webs and energy pyramids, the carbon cycle, and feedback loops (aligned to the 2016 Indiana Environmental Science Standards)
-Guided Notes divided by topic that follows along with PowerPoint (great for students with IEPs, 504s, or those who struggle with English)
-Teacher guide explaining purpose of project
-Student handout with each step of the project easily explained
This set of resources allows you to teach your students many important topics through lecture-style (or independent note taking) techniques, and then has your students "teach it back" to you while using either the Explain Everything app or Book Creator app on iPads. *The same idea can be done in Google Slides if you are using computers instead of iPads, though some functionality will be different.*
Break your teaching into easily manageable chunks for each topic, allowing students to learn some information, begin their projects, and then learn more information to add. This allows your students to focus on each topic one part at a time instead of being overwhelmed with all the information at once.
Depending on how comfortable your students are with iPads and with the apps available, this bundle can span roughly anywhere between 6 and 10 50-minute periods, including project work time. This allows you plenty of time to check for understanding with your kids throughout their project!
Have fun including technology into your lessons with this ecosystems bundle!
