I find that creating a handbook for your program is one of the most important things you can do, to get everyone literally "on the same page." There is always a natural gap of information between director, student, administrator, and parent. A good handbook cuts through the misinterpretations and will clarify for everyone what the expectations are.
Even the best handbook ever conceived could only be a starting point for creating one to match your program. When I arrived at my most recent school district, there was a two page handout used. Knowing from past experience that this wouldn't do, the following was created to cover the contingencies that were seen for that program.
As with any handbook you will find things that will work perfectly, things that need to be adjusted, and things that just will not work in your situation. Even more important is to update your handbook whenever a new situation comes up.
This is a fully editable version in Word 2010 format that will give you complete control and the ability to change anything and everything to match your particular situation. Should you need an earlier version of Word please contact me after purchase and I will be happy to send a copy saved in an earlier format.
If you are starting from scratch or want to start over with a new fully formed handbook, this is the one you want. If you are just looking for ideas however, then you might want to download the pdf version in my store instead and save yourself some money!
