One of my favorite things about being an art teacher is creating magic in the classroom. I have developed several "magic" art tricks to share with my fellow TPT colleagues. This is one of my favorites.
In this lesson you will learn how to use shaving cream and watercolor paint (or food coloring) to create beautiful, one-of-a kind marbleized paper in the most unexpected way. I have taught this lesson many times and I've yet to meet anyone who wasn’t absolutely amazed by the outcome. It is truly MAGIC!!!
If you aren’t an art teacher, don't worry. I have included a materials list, set up directions and a very simple, clear, step-by-step instruction handout that you can print and follow along with.
I have also created a video that demonstrates how to do this lesson. You can use it to learn how to do this lesson yourself. I have designed the video so you can show it to your students and pause at each step so your students can follow along.
This lesson is fun, easy and will surely be remembered by your students for years to come. They will scream, “It’s magic” at the end of this lesson—guaranteed!
