Most who have taught ESL know that grammar can be a challenge to teach. How many students have used their grammar books, rather than counting sheep, to cure insomnia? However, grammar can also be a fun, exciting, engaging opportunity to build class climate.
You'll find here the following Multiplie Intelligence activities for teaching students to speak and write comparisons using ER, IER, and Double Consonant + ER.
TAKE A SIP Review Activity
Group Puzzle: Social/Kinesthetic
Youtube Video: Auditory/Visual
This packet includes a brief grammar exercise, grammar rules crib sheet, dialogue for social practice, physical puzzle for whole class activities (or homework), a word search, and more. Answer keys are also included. As a licensed K-12 ESL teacher who has also taught adults for many years. I can say with confidence that these exercises would be good for students in elementary, middle, and high school, grades 5 to 12 as well as for adults.
I hope that your class enjoys these activities. Have fun learning!
