Fun Facts was created to be used with nonfiction text.Students select and read a nonfiction text. They find one interesting or fun fact they would like to share with their classmates. On the recording sheet, students write the title, author and page number of their fact. They draw/color a picture of the fact and then write the fun fact or caption below their drawing.Students will turn their papers in to be placed in a Fun Facts Class Book (3-ring binder).
Periodically review the Fun Facts Book with your class.
Allow your students to read the book as well. This can serve as a great motivator for your struggling readers.
