Description
There are 110 different fun history writing prompts included in this resource. Being able to talk and write about history is a practiced skill but prompts are often serious and formal. Historians like to talk about history too and many times the conversation is friendly and informal but that doesn't mean the conversations lack knowledge.
Build your student's confidence and writing skills by letting them work with fun history prompts. Some are silly. Others are simplistic and your students will amaze you with where their thoughts go.
The writing prompts are built for a world history class but they do lean Euro-centric. I took time to ensure there were plenty of options to include particularly Asian history but there is only a handful of African or western hemisphere specific prompts. I made sure to include prompts about women's history as that is a topic of concern to me personally.
The file will download as a PDF and there is no particular order to the prompts. If I took the time to create a zip folder and separated the topics I'd charge a higher price.

Don't grade student's writing using an ELL-based rubric. Yes, spelling is important but your students need to impress you with their HISTORY knowledge, not their grammar. Use a history-based rubric instead. Click here to see mine.
