This is a great first week of school activity to help everyone get to know each other and start thinking in Spanish again. Students are prompted to "stand if" followed by 40 activities such as "Stand if you went to the beach over the summer." Each slide is illustrated to provide context cues. The command "stand" is translated 3 ways so the teacher can choose which to use or introduce students to all 3. Tenses used include present, preterite, conditional, and present perfect. There are some humorous slides and it can be easily modified to suit your class. You can extend the activity by going around and asking the students standing follow-up questions, e.g. "What beach did you go to?" My students had a lot of fun with this last year and it helped me to get to know them.
