Product Description
Tired of writing sums on the white board? What mischief happens behind you when you turn around to write on the board? Kids bored of copying sums off the board? Here are some interactive math activities that allow you to sit and even call students up to the computer to interact with the PowerPoint technology.

How it works is you open the slide show and a set of sums come up. You can drag a star to indicate to the student which sum to solve. Clicking the sum (actually Shift+Alt+click) calculates and reveals the answer. Lazy teaching (or maybe smarter teaching!) – you can see the functionality working in the above preview video.

You can change the sums from addition to subtraction to division and so on and you can change the numbers too. I’ve only used numerals 1 to 10 but you can do more complicated sums – just change the numbers, the calculation will update itself automatically. Easy street! It’s completely editable so you can work with any variation of numbers depending upon the level you are teaching.

There are two additional activities. Firstly, there is a categorizing activity. Again, live in the PowerPoint show, the elements are interactive. Students pick a sum and drag it to the column of the correct answer. You can edit the sums and the answer column headings. The functionality of this is shown in the preview video.
Lastly is a spin the wheel board game with math sums. Click to spin the wheel then move the counter to its place by click and drag (live in the PowerPoint show – no need to exit the show). Once more, you can see this working in the preview video.

I’ve used these activities for different grades ranging from primary three to lower high-school and they always like the technology and getting up from their desk and clicking and dragging the icons.

Each slide contains notes that will help the teacher understand how the interactive functionality works on each slide.

This is a macro enabled PowerPoint. On opening the file, enable the macros / enable content.
