**** FOUR FUN WORKSHEETS TO INTRODUCE STUDENTS TO INTEGERS ****
These worksheets will engage students in real-life problems that involve integers and introduce them to how they are used.
Included in this packet:
- What's the Elevation: students will encounter a picture and they need to make educated guesses about the elevation of different figures in the picture. Introduces students to the concept of negative elevation.
- Hacked Bank Account: your bank account has been hacked and money has been taken out of it. Students need to figure out the total in their bank account and will discover what happens when it becomes overdrawn. Helps to show students what happens when numbers need to be lower than zero.
- Keep the Penguin Cozy: students need to keep the temperature at a cozy zero degrees. They will need to figure out how to adjust the temperature to change it back. This helps introduce students to the concept of adding and subtracting negatives.
- Parking the Car: Vincent needs to find a parking space, but all of the floors are full. He travels up down a parking garage to find an open spot. This worksheet helps students see what happens when zero is not included in the number line. Great for having students draw out a solution.
