Movie history + parody rap songs = fun reading comprehension activities! Agree?

Based on our Movie vs. History, parody rap songs, these activities will keep your students' attention using song lyrics while they practice a variety of reading skills. Easily incorporate them into independent work or complete them together as a class lesson.

Students will listen to the songs then use the song lyrics as reading passages to complete the activities detailed below.

These activities are:

The songs for these activities explore the history and development of the Mulan, Moana, and Frozen movies, presenting what inspired each film and how each Disney movie compares to the source material.

The song lyrics for these activities cover interesting topics and characters such as Maui, a mighty demigod, and the battles that Mulan fought in, providing a good deal of action for students. The songs are also performed and written in an energetic style that any students looking for some excitement will enjoy. (Don't worry - your boys will have fun too!)
