This exciting PowerPoint Presentation is all about Figurative Language! It is the perfect tool for teaching about similes, metaphors, alliteration, personification, hyperbole, idioms, assonance, and onomatopoeia. All eight of these topics are discussed in detail, with most of them having four or more slides dedicated to that topic! Students will be challenged to give definitions for each term, identify and create examples for them, and determine WHY authors use each type! Many examples were take from internet websites. If I used a picture from a website, I listed the link where it came from. If you need to know where examples came from, this is documented elsewhere - contact me and I will get this information to you.
My students loved this presentation and enjoyed the examples, as well as creating their own. I also had each student make a Figurative Language bookmark after our discussion. This document will be a separate file on TPT. After filling them out, I laminated them for the students to keep with them and use over and over again as a reference!
