This game is similar to "Balderdash" in that students create definitions for odd of unfamiliar words in order to trick their opponents. It's the perfect game for any English-Language Arts class, and it supports group learning, cooperation, and interpersonal skills.
This download includes 3 themed games: Yiddish words, words relating to food or eating, and words beginning with pro and con. Once students know how to play the game, you can get through about 10 words per 55-minute class period. Of course, not all classes work at the same pace.
This game pack includes:
-3 theme games and keys (with definition starters/helpers--this helps with differentiation)
-student directions (ready to be printed and copied)
-and each game ends with a fun little tidbit about the day's themed words
This is a great game to play after testing or the day before school breaks (when energy is high and you are hoping to get through the day in one piece).
