Product Description
Students will watch a YouTube link to the Pixar short film Big Buck Bunny to practice learning about archetypes. The PowerPoint is designed for students who are learning archetypes for the first time.

Students will:
Access prior knowledge by brainstorming movies with common characters with a Bell Ringer
Learn about archetypal characters, events, and themes
Watch a funny video clip and practice identifying archetypes.

The PowerPoint is clear and visually appealing with great graphics.

This is a very engaging way to teach archetypes. I created it for my lower level students who struggle to learn archetypes because they have not read enough books to be aware of common traits. This video activity level the playing field in a fun, interactive way. My honors students also enjoy the fun characters and the challenge of thinking of new archetypes.

This is a great first step in the Common Core journey to analyze the author's use of archetypal elements.
